The research unit is contributing to the development of digital twins for fusion devices. In particular, we leverage our expertise in sensor fusion for improved plasma state estimation used by neural network surrogates of transport codes. We then combine predicted heat fluxes with real-time IR camera data of plasma-facing components, for wall protection and predictive maintenance.
