The department of Applied Physics is hiring a Research & Teaching Assistant, for research in the area of nuclear fusion.

We had our Spring Meeting on June 11 2026, discussing our most recent research results, as well as our strategy in research and teaching.

The Belgian Fusion Day 2026 took place in Leuven, on April 28.

On January 12, 2026, Hao Wu successfully defended his PhD entitled "Bayesian Inference of Tungsten Impurity Transport in Fusion Plasmas".

On the occasion of Hao Wu's PhD defense, Dr. Didier Mazon from CEA Cadarache gave a talk at infusion.

Starting from January 2026, Prof. Giorgio Sonnino has become affiliated to the infusion group as a senior researcher.

The selection of students for the FUSION-EP master program has been completed. 21 students have been selected to start their journey in fusion education in the next semester in 2024!

This year the Belgian Fusion Day will take place on Friday, October 18 in Brussels!

The master thesis topics for the academic year 2024-2025 are now online. We offer topics in fusion data science and plasma modeling, as well as ion cyclotron heating and wall conditioning.
